|Corbett, Eugenia “Jean” Mary||
Eugenia “Jean” Mary Corbett, 83, of Prospect, passed away on February 6, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Boston, Mass. on February 5, 1934, daughter of the late Hugh and Jean M. (Corcoran) Nicholson.
Jean is survived by her children, Brian Paul Corbett and wife Lori-An of Parrish, Fla., Joanne Corbett of Prospect, Gregory Corbett and wife Rose Foufas of Farmington, and Paul Corbett of Cheshire; and a brother, Francis Nicholson and wife Helen of Prince Edward Island; along with several nieces and nephews.

|Hale, Janet M.||
CHESHIRE – Janet M. Hale, 59, passed away on February 16, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the longtime companion of Joseph Maruffi.
Janet was born on February 27, 1957 in Southington, the daughter of the late Kenneth Ives and Mary (Allen) Hale. She was a professional driver for Tilcon CT Inc., recently retiring after 34 years. During her years with Tilcon, she was a member of the Teamsters Local 559. She was a lifelong Cheshire resident where she was active with the Cheshire Grange #23 and enjoyed duckpin bowling.
Beside her companion Joe of 23 years, Janet is survived by her brothers, Stuart Hale and his wife Judy of Newbury, N.H. and Donald Hale and his wife Judy of Lehigh, Fla.; her sisters, Nancy Hale of Lehigh, Fla. and Cindy Schieman and her husband Larry of Lyman, N.H.; six nieces and several grand-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her sister Sally and her nephew Stuart Hale.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. |Trifone, Elizabeth “Betsy”||
Elizabeth “Betsy” Trifone, 84, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, February 20, 2017. She was the devoted wife of the late Alfred Trifone, who passed in November 2011.
Betsy was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Edward H. and Margaret (Clements) Dare. While raising her five children, Betsy was active in the PTAs of both McKinley Elementary School and Andrew Warde High School. She had worked part-time at Steinbach Department Store and years later at Kohl’s. Betsy was also a devoted member of Holy Family Church, Fairfield. Along with her late husband, they were known as “Mama and Baba” to their 19 grandchildren. When she found spare time, she enjoyed bowling, reading and watching classic old movies.
Betsy leaves her loving children, Dr. James Trifone (Cindy) of Cheshire, Robert Trifone (Marjorie) of Darien, Stephen Trifone (Diane) of Cheshire, John Trifone of Clarksburg, Md., Nancy Trifone Ferrarese of Fairfield; 19 grandchildren, Alyssa, Abby, Katie, Danny, Christian, Bobby, Mark, Christopher, Nick, Greg, Julie, David, Stephen, Mark, Kristin, Brian, Laura, Kevin and Jenny; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Buckley.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 between 5 and 7 p.m. at Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, 4 Gorham Pl., Trumbull. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. All are asked to go directly to the church. CHESHIRE – Margaret Louise Vissat, born on June 2, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away on February 14, 2017. She was the devoted wife of Raymond L. Vissat of Cheshire, Conn.; mother of Raymond Vissat, Jr. of Cheshire, Conn.;, Robert Vissat of Marlboro, Mass., Mark Vissat of Altamont, N.Y., and David Vissat of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandmother of Raymond III, Alexandra, Michael, Justin, Jonathan, Abigail, Victoria, Jacqueline, Livia, Evan, Giancarlo and Nicolas; and great-grandmother of Leighton. She is survived by her sister, Louise Sutton of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Margaret was a secretary in the library at Cheshire High School for many years and an active member of the St. Bridget’s parish community. In the later years of her life, she returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh where she was an avid baker, crafter and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Margaret will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
